Repair Cafe

In February 2020 Greener Waldringfield had its most successful event yet, the Sustainability Day with Repair Cafe held in the village hall, Waldringfield. Around 100 people attended the event, and a good range of old and young, villagers and some from further afield came to hear talks on sustainable living and brought items for repair. Items for repair included a Play station controller, computer tablet, mobile phone, lava lamp, Roberts radio, crockery, bicycles various pieces of furniture and clothing.

People were also invited to try out electric cycles under instruction from resident expert Dylan Winter, and Ian Kay gave a well attended talk on Climate change. We planned the following month to have an open meeting to put Greener Waldringfield, which has since 2010 worked on an ad hoc basis, on a formal footing..but then Covid! Happily, however, this meeting eventually took place over a year later and Greener Waldringfield is now well established!

See the front page for details of the next (2nd!) repair cafe in September 2021. Bring out your dead...radios etc!
